1. Head Measurement Instructions How do I work out my Head Size? If you haven't got a soft dressmakers tape measure use a piece of string and measure your head rather loose than tight as per instructions on the picture below and work out the length of the string by placing it on a ruler or hardware measure tape. Remember, if you want to pull hat/cap over your ears or put your hair bun into it you have to add 2cm (20mm). Please convert to metric as shown on table to the right. Let me know if you have dreadlocks, suffer from hair loss, or expect your hair to grow back.

2. Hat Care Instructions Usually instructions are sewn into the hat. Rule of thumb for soft hats: Hand wash separately with gentle soap. Drip dry. If necessary iron peak or brim with hot steam iron placing a cloth or handkerchief in between. If worried about shrinkage, put on the hat whilst still slightly damp and wear for an hour. Hat will dry forming comfortably to your head. If in doubt Contact me. No need for Hat boxes! Most of my hats are tightly packed into old suitcases. They are in transit for several days destined to be sold at Folk Festivals. Once set up in my marquee on hat frames with a bit of warmth from the sun and fresh air they quickly pop back into shape. |

4. Can I order by Telephone or Post (snail mail) N/A (Not available) |
5. Why are there No prices on Hats? As an indicator, the base price on hats displayed on pages 1-10, start from $75. If you buy 3 or more hats in one order you get significant discount. All reasonable offers considered! Commissioned hats attract a much higher fee. Each hat is individually designed and made in Krystyna's home based hat crafters studio in Irymple near Mildura, Australia (550km north of Melbourne). The precious materials are sourced from vintage fabrics passionately collected over a period of 40 years. |
6. Where can I find you? My Workshop/Home Studio is based near Mildura Rural City in Victoria Australia. Due to health problems Krystyna has reduced the amount of hat making considerably. She has not exhibited her hats since Easter 2011. |
7. Which store stocks your hats? None! Reason being that shop owners consider my hats too pricey. The shop owner wants to mark up my price by 100% to 300%, which will make a hat too expensive for most people to buy. The current price on my hats barely cover my costs. That is why the trend to design in Australia but outsourcing labour overseas has increased at rocket speed. I choose not to go down that path. All hats are made at home by me with love, integrity, purposefulness, not with hate, sweat and duty! Retailers please note this is a one woman cottage craft industry. No mass production! |
